March 2017 – Speakeasy Hawaii

The Star House retreat, on the quiet west coast of Oahu, is meant to offer unstructured time and space with your fellow writers—to focus and re-energize. Join us at a farmstay house with a library/communal workspace, kitchen, and swimming pool… close to beaches, forests, hiking and snorkeling. Temperatures should be in the 70s in March.

Attendees will have the chance to share works-in-progress, meet with like-minded writers, and have plenty of time to work. The retreat is meant to be permission to break the rules, to write the books you really want to write, to shock, surprise, delight. Come ready to read other’s work and offer constructive feedback in addition to taking the time to reflect on your own projects—we’ll start the week off with a wine-and-critique group on Saturday. Attendees may come for the first weekend alone, or stay through the week, as suits your needs.

Melissa Manlove will be the attending for the 3rd-5th, and is happy to consult one-on-one for no fee.

There is no retreat fee. Room rates at the retreat house vary from $45-$125 per night. MAKE SURE TO TELL US if you are interested in sharing a room!

Meals are up to attendees to organize together. There is a kitchen for communal use, as well as various nearby restaurants.
